Mental Health First Aid
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA)
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is a globally recognised, evidence-based training programme designed to equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to support individuals experiencing mental health challenges or crises. Much like physical first aid, MHFA focuses on early recognition, immediate response, and directing individuals toward professional help when needed.
At its core, MHFA promotes diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB), fostering environments where everyone—regardless of background or identity—feels safe, supported, and valued. By addressing mental health through a DEIB lens, MHFA helps participants appreciate the diverse experiences of individuals, break down barriers to accessing support, and create truly inclusive spaces.
Why Mental Health First Aid Matters
In a world where stress, anxiety, depression, and other mental health challenges are on the rise, MHFA provides the tools to shift from reactive to proactive care. Its benefits include:
- Reducing stigma and fostering open, judgment-free conversations about mental health.
- Empowering individuals to support others with sensitivity to cultural, social, and personal contexts.
- Building inclusive communities where mental health support is accessible and equitable for all.
MHFA training is delivered by accredited instructors and tailored to fit diverse environments, including companies, schools, and community organisations.
