Teen Mental Health First Aid
The Teen Mental Health First Aid course is an educational course that teaches students in year 8 & above to provide mental health first aid to their friends & get the help of an adult quickly. Young people will often turn to each other when stressed or upset, and try to help each other, and sometimes take too much on.
This course teaches students how to:

- Recognise the signs of a mental health crisis, particularly suicide
- Utilise the TMHFA Action Plan for developing mental health problems
- Get a responsible & trusted adult to take over as necessary
Note: The Teen Mental Health First Aid course can only be delivered in schools where a percentage of the staff are trained as Youth Mental Health First Aiders.
DURATION: The course is designed specifically to engage this age group & is delivered across three interactive sessions of 60-mins (year 8 – 10) or 75-mins (year 11 – 13).
