Conversation About Gambling
Learn how to provide mental health first aid to people who experience gambling harm
The Mental Health First Aid Conversations About Gambling course will teach you how to identify, approach and support someone who is experiencing gambling harm by using a practical, evidence based Action Plan. You will also have the opportunity to practise your new skills in a safe environment. This course is based on guidelines developed through the expert consensus of people with lived experience of mental health problems and professionals.
What will you learn?
- How to approach someone you are concerned about
- Risk factors, signs, symptoms and motivations which may underpin gambling harm
- How relapse might affect someone experiencing gambling harm
- How to manage your own self care when helping someone experiencing gambling harm
Note: This is not a therapy or support group. This is a 4-5 hour workshop for adults (over 18).
